Lavender Essential Oil
What You'll Need:

Lavender buds

Rubber bands or string

Morter and pestle

A Jar
-
Non scented Oil of choice

Strainer or Cheese Cloth

Optional vitamin E oil
Method:

Dry the lavender in the shade, to enhance overall aroma
-
Tie the stems of the sprigs together with rubber bands or string
-
Hang the sprigs upside down in a warm dry area. (this can take up to 2 weeks to dry fully)

When fully dried, crumble lavender or crush it lightly with Morter and Pestle
-
Place crushed lavender in jar
-
Pour non-fragranced oil into jar, leaving 1-2 inches of space at the top

Close the jar tight and leave in sunny location. Until desired strength of aroma is achieved or

A faster alternative to sun-steeping is to heat the oil and lavender mixture in a crockpot or double boiler for 2-5 hours. Keep the temperature between (38-49 Celsius)

Once completing 1 of the 2 steeping methods, lay a piece of cheese cloth or muslin over a bowl.

Pour oil mixture onto the cloth, making sure the oil strains into the bowl.

Discard flowers left on cheese cloth

Optional: add a few drops of vitamin E oil

Pour final mixture in a dark bottle or jar to prevent overlong exposure to light.

This oil will typically last up to a month when kept in a dark dry location
Lavender and Oat Relaxing Bath
What You'll Need:

Cheese cloth or muslin
-
1/3 cup dried oats
-
¼ sunflower seed
-
6 sprigs of lavender
-
Rubber bands or string
-
Food processor or blender
Method:

Tie the stems of the lavender sprigs together with rubber bands or string
-
Hang the sprigs upside down in a warm dry area. (this can take up to 2 weeks to dry fully)

Place oats, sunflower seed and dried lavender buds in processor or blender
-
Blend until it turns into a fine powder
-
Place mixture into the middle of cheesecloth or muslin
-
Tie up the sides so mixture is fully secure
How to Use:

Put cheesecloth or muslin parcel into bath as water runs
-
Bath for 20 mins and use the parcel to rub over body as you bathe for soft, smooth skin
Stress Alleviating lavender and Lemon Balm Iced Tea:
What You'll Need:

946 millilitres of water
-
Large pot
-
1 cup lemon balm leaves
-
4 sprigs of lavender leaves
-
1-3 Tablespoons of Honey
-
strainer
-
1 Lemon
Method:
-
Place water in pot and bring to the boil
-
Add lemon balm and lavender leaves to water.
-
Remove pot from heat and cover to steep for 30-40 min or until desired strength
-
Add and stir in honey
-
Strain tea into jug and discard of the leaves
-
Place in fridge until cooled then pour and enjoy
